Pine honey accounts for approximately 60-65% of Greece’s total honey production and is considered highly nutritious and resistant to crystallization.
Features
Taste:
Mild, rich, and pleasantly caramel-like. It is not overly sweet, making it ideal for daily consumption.
Aroma:
Earthy, resinous, and subtly woody, with hints of pine.
Color:
Dark amber to deep brown, depending on the season and the harvesting area. The pine honey from Kos has a warm, rich color with a natural shine.
Crystallization:
It crystallizes very slowly, often after 1 to 2 years or more due to its low natural sugar content.
The Drosos family maintains their beehives in selected forested areas of Kos, where the pine trees are rich in honeydew, ensuring a pure product with no additives, containing all the beneficial properties that Greek nature has to offer.
